Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack and Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari voted against keeping the rate unchanged, arguing that hiking now is necessary to prevent further price increases.
Their concerns are fueled by a growing sense of urgency within the Fed. As Hammack stated, "Now is the time for the Federal Open Market Committee to act to speed the return of PCE inflation to our 2 percent objective.
